Some of us may be waking up to flowers, I know I went to bed on a huge sugar high, and this evening others may be sipping some champagne. Today is not a made up holiday, it’s Valentine’s Day and I believe it should be celebrated like any other special day in the year. Although, the day has already arrived and the shopping and reservations are hopefully in place, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any last minute solutions. There are a few people in my life who always write the most thoughtful cards, one is my husband and another is a close friend I have known forever. Every time I rip open an envelope from them I know there will be a sweet and heartfelt message inside. They aren’t the most intricate cards, but the words make them worth holding on to. Without diving too far into red and pink glitter, doily, and heart craft land this season you can easily make a homemade gift that is chic, simple, and sure to show some love to the recipient.

I read a story that the small zipped pocket under the flap of the Chanel 2.55 bag was meant for Coco to hold onto little love notes. I’m not sure if that is true, but the story was too cute to confirm from multiple sources. The pouch is thin and small and can probably only hold a few notes, but the sentiment is what Valentine’s Day is a ll about. Starting from the iconic heart shape it is easy to fold a simple note into what resembles an envelope with a small closure. The message can be as heartfelt or friendly as you like, but the little black package is sure to stand out among a sea of standard sparkling Valentine’s notes.
